Dr. Ona Ekhomu has warned of an imminent terror attack by dangerous Islamist group ISIS in Nigeria and has advised the Government to put in place Pro Active measures. This he has warned after the terror group ISIS claimed responsibility for the coordinated attack in Paris last week.

The President of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria advised the Government to carry along the citizens of the country in the fight against terror. Dr. Ekhomu in a statement released on Monday said recent intelligence intercepts shows that an ISIS attack is imminent in Nigeria.
He said ISIS could use its Nigerian affiliate, Boko Haram to wreak havoc here in Nigeria in order to signal its capability to carryout worldwide terror attack and add to its stocks of fear. He advised that “having millions of Nigerians on the lookout for terrorists, reporting suspicious activities to the authorities is better than 400,000 police and military personnel searching for terrorists.
Dr. EKhomu further analyzed that with proper enrolment, citizens can become the arrow head in the search for terrorists as citizens are everywhere. With trained eyes, they can recognize an imminent and even spot bomb planters and suicide bombers.
He advised the Federal Government to adopt a color-coded security alert system adding that the code could be used to prevent attacks in the country. He explained how the system would work, saying, “The Federal Government can adopt the color-coded security system where Green means attack in not likely and Red means imminent attack”.
He also called for the setting up of Emergency Response Centers across the 36 states including the FCT with voice-logging recorders to enable trained professionals respond to citizens in emergency situations.
Dr. Ekhomu who is a Chartered Security Expert stressed the need for an establishment of a National 3-digit emergency number, saying the multiplicity of security numbers by various security agencies shows that we are not serious about security.
He also advise the political leaders to work hard to ensure people are kept safe from attacks by being pro-active rather than the attitude of always rushing to the hospitals to visit the victims of bomb blast and even paying for their bills.
He concluded by advising the government at all levels to be guided by the pro-active and responsive actions of some developed countries in protecting their citizens from terror groups.
ISIS have carried out numerous attacks in various countries over the years and with Boko Haram affiliating them, the Federal Government had better heeded to the advice of Dr. Ekhomu to prevent any attack.
